Stumbling Christians part 2

Play

Your power must come from within~ Jesus living in you. “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew then for the Gentile,” (Rom. 1:16)

The big three destroying Christians are sex, money, and power and one is sufficient to destroy. Focus your attention on Jesus and His authority and ability to conquer. The Spirit of God gives us spiritual weaponry that can defeat all the lusts of the flesh and of the mind and make us victorious Christians. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land,” (Job 1:10).

Before and after His resurrection, Jesus unleashed spiritual power and even nature obeyed his will; Jesus commanded by His word and water was made into wine. Jesus blessed the bread and the fishes and they were multiplied. Additionally, by His word dead Lazarus came out of the grave. Jesus also commanded demons to leave a writhing victim and to come out of him ,the demons obeyed and the person was loosed that same hour. These and many other works of Jesus show His spiritual power in action.

The Lord will fight for you

Our war is uniquely tied to our love, obedience and submission to God. We are able to win every struggle when we are connected with our Lord.

“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. 19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.”(2 Chronicles 20:17-20).

“Believe in the WORD of the Lord your God, and believe in his law, and believe in his prophets; and ye shall prosper.” Here the WORD and the revelation are most pointedly distinguished; the Word being used personally. (2 Chronicles 20:20).

We are reminded to stand in faith joined to Jesus. “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily,” (Colossians 2:6-9).

Stumbling Christians Part one

Many Christians are content to live with demonic powers controlling their lives and their families. Sin has become a friend. They do not resist temptation. “. . . . I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpents cunning, so your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ,” (II Cor. 11:3).

Many enjoy living for the gods and things of the world and the flesh. In many instances in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Christians are uncommitted. In addition, others are full of rebellion, spiritual and sexual perversions, adultery, lust, incest, fornication, oral sex, whoredom, homosexuality, hate and unforgiveness and every bondage under the sun. (I Cor. 9:27). A Christian is equipped through the Word of God to bring their bodies under dominion to the spiritual man and spiritual power makes this possible. This same spiritual power is spoken of in Ephesians concerning inner man which can bring the whole person into subjection to the Spirit of God. We must believe for this blessing to be possible in our lives. God’s will for us to live holy lives, (I Thess. 4:3).

God would never have told us to possess our vessels if it were not possible. Is your body and soul mastering you, or are you, by spiritual power, mastering them and making them work to serve you? If you do not have the ability (power) to clean up your life, then do your first works over again, (Rev. 2:5). “Watch your life and doctrine closely and persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers,” (I Tim. 4:16).
