Preaching Jesus Christ Crucified

The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 1:23, to seek God. We preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, but Jews and Geeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” Jesus came down to earth and lived among men. Jesus also suffered, was crucified and the He died on the Cross for us. You can find Him when seek for Him with all your heart. Many no longer preach about the cross of Jesus or the importance of His sacrifice. Jesus said, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. The problem we face today is, millions have been drawn away to receive another spirit other than the Spirit they had previously received (1 Cor. 11: 4). Paul reproved these Corinthian Christians for receiving another Spirit.

The Corinthians had cheerfully accepted a man that came preaching a different Jesus than the Jesus that Paul preached and had turned from the good news to a different message they had originally accepted. Paul asked in amazement, “Who had bewitched the believers to draw them away from the truth.” The consequence upon them was not just the influence of receiving wrong mental impressions conveyed by counterfeit and deceptive teachers, but transformations of their faith caused by evil spirits imposing false doctrines through false teachers, (Galatians 3:1). They had changed. They were religious, but had a new agenda. They had become the New Age People of their day, bewitched by the paranormal, magical words of a false prophet; changed into another kingdom. They once were saved but now they were lost.

1 John 4:4-6, — “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”

Lack of Harmony in Christian Marriages

by Pastor Pat Holliday on March 1, 2010

Two cannot walk together unless they be agreed. A couple should not get married unless they are compatible. Before a couple gets married there should be an understanding on spiritual matters. Without this understanding there could be trouble down the road. Eventually, both parties need to have an equal or comparable commitment to Christ and living for Him in order for the marriage to function in harmony. The Spirit of God has to be present in a marriage and the couple functioning in a personal relationship with the Lord or the two may not walk in the unity of agreement.

The Standing Remnant of Faithful Saints

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 28, 2010

Many Christians left their churches feeling something is wrong; brokenhearted, with great grief they left, disappearing into their homes clutching their Bibles and seeking Lord Jesus.

2 Thess 2:3-4, — “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

Pastors have moved away from a biblical foundation as they seek to build mega churches and dream to become the next Joel Osteen of the world. America is the largest mission field in the world. While preachers are told that this generation is unlike any generation that ever lived before and therefore preachers need to change their approach to draw people into their churches and change their messages.

Satan’s Chief Weapon to Snare the Believer

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 27, 2010

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light,” (Romans 13:11-12).

Is there a planned conspiracy attacking the Christian Church to change its agenda for spreading the gospel message of Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us yes, Satan wants to conquer every Christian turning their loyalty to his New Age schemes to transform their souls to the powers of the world and new concepts of faith.

The enemy has successfully placed fifth column agents in every level of the church. A fifth column is a group of people who clandestinely undermine a larger group from within to aid an external enemy. These secret agents successfully won great victories when they stole the Word of God as the central thoughts of the foundation of the Christian Church. They simply replace The Word with counterfeit Bibles and removed the central themes concerning Jesus by changing words or leaving entire scriptures’ out.

Keep the Faith of the Christian Church

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 26, 2010

icon for podpress  Faith and the Power of God: Play in Popup | Download

The World is divided into two categories of people. First: Believers who are indwelt by God for the reason that Jesus has been received and covers their sins.

“Christians are believers because they are indwelt by God because of Christ 1 Peter 1:23-25 — Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” KJV

They are the people who realize their spiritual vulnerability and release their dependence upon Jesus. They show sorrow over sin, and are meek (balanced between extremes), hungry for God’s righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, ridiculed, persecuted, or slandered because of Christ. Jesus compares them to salt and light.

The other group consists of the unbelievers of this world. Many sects and cults have their members say a prayer that their soul touch all souls. This is one of the ways evil soul ties are formed. Christian must avoid fellowship with false religious sects and cults.

Some of these cults are: The Third Wave; The Word of Faith; The family of God; The Children of God, The Manifest Sons of God, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christian Science, Rosicrucian’s, Theosophy, Unity, Mormonism, Unitarians, Bahai, Spiritualism, Scientology, Sweden organism, Christodelphiamism, Inner Peace Movement, Spiritualism, Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship, Association for Research and Development, Religious Research Foundations of America, Eckankar, Urantia, Moonies, Subud, Latihan, Islam, The Way, and other religions using the Bible but denying or omitting the Divinity of Christ, and/or the Atonement of His precious Blood, any group denying existence of heaven or hell.

Contemplating the Second Return of Jesus Christ

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 22, 2010

The ones who saw Jesus Christ’s ascension following his death, burial and resurrection, heard the announcement from the angels saying that “why gaze ye into the heavens, this same Jesus as you see going up will return in like manner”. Jesus Christ will literally return to this earth on a Shekinah glory cloud as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and rule for one thousand years.

Demonstrations of the Power of God part one two

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 19, 2010

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. . . “ (Col. 1:15).

Who is the image of the invisible God as it is in the corresponding to Eph. 1-39-23, gives the analysis of the exaltation of Jesus the Redeemer. Jesus is the visable representation of the invisible God. .He represents to human beings the excellence of God as a figure Who was forgiving and desired that no one perish.

John 3:16-18, — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The blood of Jesus, covers your sin. God sent Him to save you from Hell and that you can enjoy everlasting life with God. Now dear friend, if there had been another way to salvation, God would have never sent Jesus to die in your place. His purpose was not to condemn the world but through Jesus could be rescued from the powers of the Devil. It is simple, God’s provision for your salvation is your will to choose Jesus by receiving his free gift of deliverance from the hands of Satan.
The entire world is in a ruinous state of elimination from God’s forgiveness and about to perish to everlasting judgment of God. Apart from God’s redemption powers of Jesus’sacrificial gift for those who receive Him, every soul is on a course of utter destruction. The sacrifice of Jesus is the only means by which the redemption of humans can be effected and is absolutely sufficient to accomplish Gods design for rescuing humankind.

Demonstration of the Power of God part one

“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God,” (1 Cor. 2:4,5).

Christians have direct access to the power of God. Sadly, much of the power is squandered on Better Homes and Garden or Disney World sort of Christianity. Jesus fully intended to leave a militant church so that His people could evangelize the world for souls. We are living in perilous times. Nevertheless, it is also a time for great Christian witnessing because of the tremendous darkness that has spread across the world. We are surrounded by the enemy on all fronts and the Church is infiltrated by New Age doctrines camouflaged in new distortions Biblical language. We must be a vigilant, but Word enlightened and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

The Church was purchased with the precious blood of the Eternal Son of God, therefore, like Him is eternal. “Upon this rock” (Petra), said Jesus, “I will build my church.” The Church is not built upon his disciple, Peter, but it is built upon Jesus as the foundation. There is a divine person living in the church; each member of the church is indwelt by the Spirit of God. The Christian has a unique relationship with Jesus. Jesus is shown as the Head of the church and the members are called His Body. He has given his believer’s a power of attorney to act against the power of Satan.

Jesus is the Seat of Power

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 17, 2010

icon for podpress  Doubting Jesus : Play in Popup | Download

(Eph. 1:17-23), “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.”

Jesus has been raised and seated at the right hand of Father God. He is ruling in power and distributing His power to the ones who believe.

(Rom. 8:16). “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves,” (2 Cor. 13:5). “Every Christian emerges either trusting in people, or trusting fully in God, that is, either cursed or blessed.”

The Bewitchment of the Mind in the Latter Days

by Pastor Pat Holliday on February 17, 2010

As the days draw closer to the return of the Lord, the Word of God is being fulfilled in many ways. One specific way is found in the Word of God concerning people giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. This type of phenomena can occur through the reception of fantasy that is so prevalent in our bookstores, movies and even in our schools in this nation. Please pray that the Lord will open our eyes and the eyes of the church to stay alert in these dangerous and perilous times.
