How to Bind and Loose Equipped for Spiritual Warfare Part One

by Pastor Pat Holliday on September 2, 2010

Conquering Authority

Binding-and-loosing-in-Jesus-Name

Christians must be prepared and equipped for spiritual warfare. From the earliest times men wore and used devices for the protection of the body in battle.

The Apostle Paul spoke of the armor in a figurative sense, with reference to righteousness as a protection to the follower of God against the assaults of evil or temptation. They take upon themselves the whole armor of God, Helmet, Salvation; Breastplate, Righteousness; Girded Loins, Truth; Shod Feet; Shield, Faith, (Eph. 6:13-17), shows what wonderful provisions’ God has made for His warriors.

  • Christians must be on the defensive, (Matt. 26:41).
  • You must be anointed! (Matt. 3:16),
  • You must fast! (Matt. 4:2).
  • You must quote the Word! (Matt. 4:4, 7, 10).
  • You must command the devil in the Name of Jesus! (Matt. 4:10).
  • You are the one that has to drive the devil to flight, (Jam. 4:7).

Jesus said in (Matt. 12:23-33). Satan is not going to allow anyone to destroy his work without putting up very strong counteraction. His control must first be neutralized before Christians can release his captives.

Jesus asks this penetrating question, “How can anyone enter a strongman’s house and carry off his possession unless he first ties up the strongman?” Then Jesus told us that we could enter his house. (Matt. 12:29). The King James Bibles reads, “bind the strongman.” Indeed, binding the strong man is the first basic PRINCIPLE of spiritual warfare. In fact, before any warfare opposing powers and principalities and wicked rulers and evil spirits can be won to release the nation, cities, individual, family, the strongman must be defeated, (Matt. 18: 18. 19. 20).

Once Satan’s power is bound, Jesus enters freely enters into his house and carries off Satan’s possessions. The territory is delivered and Satan loses control. The Greek word for spoil occurs in two forms, Diapazo and harapzo, which means “an intensive spoiling, plunder and snatching away.”

Deceiving Evil Spirits attacking the Church of Jesus Christ

by Pastor Pat Holliday on September 1, 2010

Christians with Demonic Problems

wolves-in-sheep-clothing

There is an alarming onslaught of deceiving spirits attacking the Church of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul reveals these special manifestations of evil spirits through prophecies that point to the deception of Christian believers in the latter times. These deceptions are showing up in the supernatural realms. Many are following teaching ministers that are sending forth an army of teaching spirits that are leading people away from their biblically based spiritual knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, spiritual blindness and through lack of knowledge, many are not able to carry out a full war against this army of wicked spirits. Many are shrinking from the subject of demons and call the war against them not credible. They believe that if Jesus Christ is preached, it is not necessary to give attention to the existence of the devil. They think that they can ignore him. (Jam. 4:7-8), “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Many Christians have never been taught the power of Jesus Christ. They believe that they never enter into direct conflict with Satan and his hosts. The church has actually been blinded by the powers of darkness and multitudes are being bound. Scriptural answers are not practiced in the lives of the people.

The clash between Satan and Jesus Son of God in the first Gospel is an ongoing one. Satan is characterized as “the strong man” and Jesus, the Son of God, in that He casts out demons by the Holy Spirit and brings people into the sphere of God’s reign, as one who “binds” him and “plunders his goods” (Matt. 12; 28-29 cf. also 8:39). Conversely, Satan and those who do his bidding are depicted as doing violence to the kingdom of heaven as “plundering” it (Matt. 11:12). A case in point, is Satan’s enlistment of Peter in an effort to put Jesus at cross-purposes with his Father and to turn him away from the path that leads to the cross, (Matt. 16:21-23).

Believers and the Power of God

Salvation-in-Jesus

On every side there are leaders of the professing Christian Church who are soft peddling the real issues of our faith. The children of God must now know these dangers for their own safety, especially these Christians who only play games, searching out teachers who will “tickle their ears.” Many Christians are occupied by worldly materialism while many strange new doctrines are being held up as having the power of God.

The church should beware of putting its faith in strange idols, i.e., Christian stars! So-called Christians want to be entertained! Meanwhile, a grave heresy attacks the Church with a sacrilegious teaching known as “Jesus Christ’s Spiritual Death.” Satan uses blinded, greedy, materialistic ministers, such as Kenneth Copeland and Kenneth Hagan to disseminate these doctrines of devils to thousands of other ministers.

Binding the Strongman in Jesus Name

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 24, 2010

We must use the authority that was delegated to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us and gave His Life for us.

No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. Mark 3:27

The Doctrine of the Serpentine Seed of Satan

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 15, 2010

Christians must put a guard their minds. To walk on Satan’s territory is an invitation for the devil to come in. This is also true of doctrines of demons. If a Christian entertains false doctrines, they will be open for demonic attack. Put a guard on your mouth and on your mind!

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,”(Ephesians 1:19.

Contending for the Faith

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 12, 2010

The Holy Spirit will Dwell in You

Jude 3-4, — “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

There is an intensified state of apostasy with men and women’s blasphemous denial of the Lord Jesus Christ by the globalist. They deny His Deity; virgin birth; vicarious death; victorious resurrection; glorious reign at the right hand of God and His coming again for His church.

The Bible tells us to earnestly “content for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” You must challenge false prophets and literally struggle for the truth of Jesus and the faith revealed unto the Apostles holding to the fundamental truths of God’s Word.

Rom 10:17, — “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Heb 11:6, — “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The Call to Salvation in Jesus Christ

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 8, 2010

True evangelism is still alive in the hearts of the Lord’s true believers. We should always ask the Lord to set us ablaze in the Holy Spirit so that we will have a Word in season and out of season for the lost.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38

Ability to See the Hand of God

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 5, 2010

The Sea of Glass

Michael Harper gives the alert that, “Behind the facade of religious life there is a spiritual battle raging. There seem to be many who are not fully aware of this war far. From time to time there is a dramatic collision between the power of the Spirit and that of Satan. Success for the Christian will depend in a large measure on recognizing the work of the devil and knowing how to defeat and expel him from every situation . . . “So it is today there is fierce conflict and there are those who do not wish to pass this way. But we cannot avoid the battle for if we do not fight the enemy, he will still come at us. . . .”

Harper goes on to say, “These wicked beings can suggest evil, but cannot coerce the will of another creature. They may spread snares and devices to ruin the child of God, but cannot compel any other being to comply with their designs, nor can they employ God’s creation other than as He decrees. They have never been able to defeat God, and actually God uses them as instruments to correct the erring saints.”

The key to practical faith is the ability to see the hand of God in the attitudes, actions and direction of those whom God places over our lives. Failure to discern God in rightly ordained authority will greatly decrease our awareness of Him and will greatly increase our conflicts and tensions with others.

God initiated the first step toward reconciliation. God told Nathan that David was forgiven give him a message of reconciliation: When you tell David what I’ve told you, he’ll think he’s going to die on the spot. But you’ve got to tell him he’s forgiven – that he’s not going to die! “Tell him also that I will walk with him through everything that comes upon him because of sin.”

Nathan told David “Look at all that God has done for you, all the blessings.” Sin gives Satan the right to enforce curses upon you. He’s given you The Lord was ready to give you all your heart’s desires. You’ve killed an innocent man, and taken his wife as your own. You have despised the Lord, David. And the enemies of God are rejoicing over what you did. The sword is not going to leave your home. Your wives will be taken from you. God will do all this before Israel. You will be judged publicly. David’s baby died.

There are consequences to your hidden sins; (Psa. 51) shows you David was afraid of his soul condition.

Christians Must Return to Bible Basics

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 4, 2010

Universal God One World Religion

The Christian must return to biblical basics and biblical doctrines have always been important features of training the Saints to be strong and able to stand firm in God’s cause. Jesus Christ, as presented by The Father and also Jesus’ testimony is according to the Word, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, “All power is given to me in heaven and in earth . . .” (Matt. 28:18). He is revealed as Deity with absolute sovereignty and authority over the universe for eternity.

When Jesus asked them about popular opinions of his identity, they recounted the rumors that he was John the Baptist or one of the ancient prophets. Jesus then turned the focus on them: “But who do you say that I am?” Jesus insisted. When Peter spoke for them all and revealed that Jesus was the Messiah and “Son of the living God,” Jesus blessed him for making that confession. “You are Peter {Petros}” Jesus said in a play on words, “and on this rock, {Petra} I will build my church,” (Matt. 16:18).

The apostle Paul reports, that Jesus rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son. He writes in the beautiful poetic language of Jesus in (Col. 1:13), describing Christ’s sovereignty. A passage celebrates Christ as creator and preserver of the universe, supreme over every creature. He is the head of his body, the church, and the first to conquer death. Although in Christ “all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,” Paul asserts, it was ultimately only through his human suffering ~ through “the blood of His cross,” (Col. 1:19, 20), “That he was able to reconcile all things to God and make peace.”

Satan’s strategy in these last days is to get you to doubt the reality of Jesus and His power. However, for the most part, entire denominations today operate without the Holy Spirit. They are devoid of the presence of Jesus, bankrupt of all spiritual gifts. They practice a form of religion without any power, conviction or saving message. They have cultivated friendship with sin and ridiculing the supernatural by tossing aside all teachings about heaven, hell, repentance and God’s judgment. They are spiritually weak, and cold. The world no longer fears them. They have no respect, and no influence and on society.

Satan’s Chief Weapon to Snare the Believer

by Pastor Pat Holliday on August 3, 2010

The Eagles are Gathering

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light,” (Romans 13:11-12).

Is there a planned conspiracy attacking the Christian Church to change its agenda for spreading the gospel message of Jesus Christ? The Bible tells us yes, Satan wants to conquer every Christian turning their loyalty to his New Age schemes to transform their souls to the powers of the world and new concepts of faith.

The enemy has successfully placed fifth column agents in every level of the church. A fifth column is a group of people who clandestinely undermine a larger group from within to aid an external enemy. These secret agents successfully won great victories when they stole the Word of God as the central thoughts of the foundation of the Christian Church. They simply replace The Word with counterfeit Bibles and removed the central themes concerning Jesus by changing words or leaving entire scriptures’ out.

The last twenty-five years, floods of various perversions of the Bible were brought into churches. Satan’s agents have achieved changing Christian views by bringing these new “modern” versions into seats of power. You are what you think. Many have overthrown Jesus as the center thought and lifted up the human spirit to control the churches.

Mind control is the chief weapon of Satan to snare the believer. The Scriptures admonish us to “bring every thought into captivity,” (II Cor. 10:5). The Scriptures say that the spirit of a sound mind means a disciplined mind. It is absolutely essential for a person to become aware of the thoughts that are coming from the devil or if the thoughts that are coming from the he Lord. If the foundation of God’s Word is removed, how will you know?
